Light-Hearted Fun for all the Family

Private Family Tours of Florence. Light-Hearted Fun for All the Family

Florence is a great place to enthuse and stimulate young minds, and maybe inspire a future Leonardo or Michelangelo! But the sheer beauty of the city and its artworks were born out of a colourful and sometimes grisly history: you really couldn't make up some of the characters who lived here, and what they got up to. What with all the feuds, murders and executions (not to mention the odd spot of plague), if your kids like the Horrible Histories books, then they are going to just love Florence!

The ethos of our family tours is that kids and grown-ups experience the art and history of Florence in fun, bite-size pieces as we walk around the old heart of the city. We talk about the noble families, their homes and coats of arms, and the tour includes a visit to the Palazzo Davanzati, an amazingly-preserved merchant’s house, where we see what life was like at home in the Middle Ages. Food, fashion and daily work all come into it, with quite possibly a gelato along the way!

Age: there is no minimum age on these family tours, but we generally recommend them for 8 years +.
