General:

You are advised to book well in advance, as places are limited, particularly for Special Events such as the Siena Palio.

Because Chris Dobson Art History Tours, Private Presentations and Special Events are usually tailored to the individual group or person, you should make contact first to discuss your requirements, usually by phone or e-mail, or by post. Chris can then design and cost your itinerary. Once that has been agreed, then you can proceed to confirm you booking.

Confirming Your Booking for Tours, Private Presentations or Special Events:

Payment of a 20% deposit (plus the cost of any tickets for Special Events) is required to secure your booking, on receipt of invoice.

You can make a temporary reservation by phone for 7 days, using the UK number on the Contact Us page, after which time you will need to confirm your booking by paying your deposit. However, this facility is not available if booking less than 30 days in advance.

The balance of the payment for your booking must be made at latest 90 days in advance of commencement.

Bookings made less than 90 days in advance must be paid for in full, at the time of booking

Methods of Payment:

Currency:
All Tours, Private Presentations and Special Event Packages are priced in £ Sterling, and are normally paid in that currency. Credit and Debit Card payments are all processed in £ Sterling.

Online Payments:
Payment facilities can be set up through this website on a special page created for you, to enable you to use a Credit or Debit Card. Payments made this way are processed by Paypal, so card payments are covered by Paypal's protection policy. In addition, if paying with a Credit Card, you are of course further covered by the card supplier's protection policy. If you have a Paypal account then you can also make the payment to the e-mail address on the Contact Us page.

Cheque Payments:
Cheques should be made payable to 'C N Dobson' and sent to the UK address on the Contact Us page.

Bank Transfers:
Payments can also be made by bank transfer. Account details available on request at time of booking.

Scheduled Public Events at Hotel La Scaletta:

Free Scheduled Events:
Free scheduled evening events at La Scaletta are open to non-residents of the hotel, and do not have to booked, but if you are not a guest, the hotel would still appreciate it if you e-mail them to let know you will be attending, as space on the roof terrace is limited.

Ticketed Scheduled Events:
These events are ticket only, and tickets can be purchased online through this website, but if you are already in Florence, you can purchase tickets by going in person to the reception of Hotel La Scaletta, Via Guicciardini, 13 (in Oltrarno, about 150 metres south of the Ponte Vecchio), and the staff there will be happy to take your booking. Please note that bookings made at the hotel this way must be paid for in cash, which will be in € Euros.
